About our listings
MWP Storm Ready lists Florida storm-season businesses, government emergency offices, and storm-prep resources. Some listings are paid sponsors; many are not. This page explains how it all works — vetting, ranking, and how to become a sponsor or claim an existing listing.
Where you'll see them
Sponsored listings appear at the top of each category, are highlighted with an orange accent, and are clearly labeled "MWP Sponsor." Public and emergency-services listings (FEMA, Red Cross, county Emergency Management offices) are never sponsored — they appear on every county page based purely on geographic relevance.
How we vet sponsors
Every sponsor is reviewed by MWP before being added to the directory. We check that the business is licensed where applicable, verify their service area and contact information, and exclude any company that doesn't meet basic standards of conduct. Sponsorship is not automatic — we say no when something doesn't fit.
How ranking works
Sponsors are pinned to the top of their category. Below sponsors, listings are ordered by a rating score that combines average user stars and number of reviews. User-submitted reviews are admin-moderated for spam but independent of sponsorship status — sponsors get the same ratings everyone else does.
How to become a sponsor

Already listed and want to claim ownership?
Some businesses appear in MWP Storm Ready as non-sponsor listings — suggested by users or featured as public-info entries. If your company is one of them and you'd like to take ownership of the listing — keep contact info current, respond to reviews, or move into a sponsorship slot — let us know. We'll verify ownership and update the record.
